Jacques Picotte has a Master’s Degree in French Literature and was doctorand in French Literature at McGill University.
He taught French for ten years after which he was a teaching assistant and later professor of French language and literature.
He joined the CTTJ in 1981. He has a variety of consulting, translation and revision duties; since 1989, he has been working on the Juridictionnaire : Recueil des difficultés et des ressources du français juridique.
He has conducted legal drafting improvement programs in French for judges and lawyers and was guest lecturer at the Translation and Languages Department of the Université de Moncton.
An experienced copy editor for the journals Égalité and La Revue de l’Université de Moncton, he has also contributed articles to Terminology Update and translated works for Les Éditions d’Acadie.
